Sitting on the Saudi Arabian Red Sea coast, the Red Sea project is one of the key projects as part of the Saudi Vision 2030.
Huawei has recently signed the contract with SEPCOIII at Global Digital Power Summit 2021 in Dubai for a 1300 MWh off-grid battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Saudi Arabia, currently the world's largest of its kind.
Huawei has more than 10 years of experience developing and researching energy storage systems, and this has been applied throughout a global installed base of more than 8 GWh.
The collaboration will see Huawei and Keppel jointly explore designing and developing innovative PV and BESS solutions tailored for identified projects including the interconnected power grids across the ASEAN region, low-carbon data centres and industrial parks, and digital energy management for hybrid energy systems.
Simplified O&M: Huawei uses power electronic technologies to overcome the inconsistencies inherent to lithium batteries, and implements refined management to maximize the battery charge and discharge capacity, while also supporting mixed use of old and new batteries and facilitating maintenance and replacement.
Huawei is a reliable partner for customers all over the world, providing long-term and efficient support in terms of delivery and service. According to the contract, Huawei's FusionSolar Smart PV + Storage solution will be delivered from June 2022, and the whole project is expected to be completed on March 2023.
