Georgia cost-effective outdoor power brand

Georgia Power has a maximum rebate amount of $25,000 per building, per year up to 50% of the equipment costs. That figure combines lighting, heating and cooling, business equipment, food service and grocery, pumps and water heating upgrades.

The one cent per kWh charge is in addition to the customer's normal cost of electricity and, per the customer's election, will apply to either 50% or 100% of the customer's monthly energy usage. Other options for Georgia Power customers include the Community Solar, Commercial and Industrial, and Renewable / Non-Renewable Programs.

In its Final Order the Commission directed Georgia Power to file a proposed Green Energy Program that would allow green energy to be purchased by its customers at an established price but would not impact bills of customers who chose not to participate.

Procurement for the REDI resources is currently ongoing and will add up to 1200 MW of additional renewable resources to Georgia Power's resource mix (1,050 MW Utility Scale, 150 MW DG) by 2021.

Effective January 2017, Georgia Power's Green Energy program ended and the Simple Solar Program began. The Simple Solar Program enables customers to support and foster the growth of solar energy in Georgia by Georgia Power purchasing and retiring Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) generated from solar energy resources on the customer's behalf.
