China has established clear regulations to ensure sustainable and harmonious integration of PV panels into agricultural landscapes. Land for PV is primarily acquired through lease agreements with relevant stakeholders, ensuring protection against the use of arable land.
The resulting dataset expands the previous publicly available facility-level data for PV solar energy by 432% (in number of facilities), including 18,449 new installations in China, 9,906 in Japan, 4,525 in the United States, 2,021 in India and 17,918 in the European Economic Area.
In addition, Principe and Takeuchi assessed the total spatial and temporal solar PV potential in the Asia-Pacific region (1.9 GW per 17.5 km 2 effective pixel area) by considering the meteorological factors limiting the total satellite solar radiation.
Thus, if the useable area for PV system installation is fully developed, the national electricity consumption can be met by PV power generation alone.
The PV system on cropland consists of two stages: PV power generation and PV load. Fig. 6 illustrates the PV power generation system, which encompasses several critical components, such as the PV module, PV controller, inverter, battery, and power grid. The environment monitoring system collects data on parameters like temperature and humidity.
The following are the findings and conclusions of this study. The national PV power potential was approximately 55.1 TW, and 583,059 km 2 may be used for solar panel installation.
